Meet Heather

Hi, I’m Heather. Developer, systems thinker, beach glass scavenger, and founder of Intropia.

I didn’t come from marketing or design. My roots are in engineering. I studied Industrial & Management Systems Engineering and Computer Science, and spent over a decade optimizing manufacturing systems and supply chains.

I was solving the kind of problems most people never see. And eventually, I wanted to solve a different kind of problem: helping businesses build and maintain websites that actually work.

Now, I help small businesses and creative teams create fast, secure, and sustainable websites— and I do it without the overwhelm.

Why I started Intropia

Too many small business owners feel abandoned after launch. The site goes live, but the website maintenance support disappears. Suddenly, they’re left handling updates, plugins, and backend bugs they didn’t sign up for.

Others come to me after being burned by developers who ghosted them, overcomplicated simple solutions, or delivered a site lacking proper functionality and optimization.

I built Intropia to change that. I wanted to offer a service rooted in trust, clarity, and long-term support. Whether I’m building something from scratch or cleaning up someone else’s code, I focus on website maintenance, improving user experience, optimizing functionality, and ensuring your site runs smoothly for the long haul.

The Intropia difference

I’m not a web designer, and I don’t pretend to be. That’s by design. 😉

Designers are incredible visual storytellers. My role is to ensure the site behind that design actually works—quickly, securely, and reliably. I often collaborate with designers and agencies to build backend systems that make their creative vision shine.

What sets me apart?

  • I focus on performance, functionality, and stability.
  • I speak plainly—no tech-splaining or scare tactics.
  • I don’t upsell you on things you don’t need.
  • I don’t disappear once the project wraps.
  • I build with longevity in mind.

Most clients come to me through referrals from designers, marketers, or businesses who trust me to follow through. When you’re ready for someone who does what they say they’ll do, I’m here.

Who I serve

I work with business owners, marketing teams, and creative agencies who are ready to stop worrying about their website.

Some are dealing with slow load times, broken features, or sites they’re afraid to touch. Others have worked with developers who overcomplicated things—or disappeared altogether.

Whether you need ongoing support, a rebuild, or someone who can quietly keep things running in the background, I’m here to help. If your website has become one more thing to manage, I’ll make sure it isn’t.

What I value

Great development isn’t just about clean code—it’s about how you show up and support the people you work with. These values shape the way I work and the kind of experience I want every client to have: clear, supportive, and built for the long haul.

Clarity over complexity

I won’t drown you in jargon or make things harder than they need to be. I believe in straightforward communication and helping you feel confident in what’s happening behind the scenes—so you’re never left guessing. Whether it’s user experience improvements or explaining WordPress functionality, my goal is always to keep things simple and effective.

Trust and follow-through

You should always know where things stand, what’s coming next, and who’s handling it. I don’t disappear mid-project or leave things hanging. I communicate clearly, stay responsive, and follow through on what I promise—whether it’s website maintenance, backups, or long-term goals for your online presence.

Built for the long haul

I don’t patch things up just to get them off the list. I focus on smart, sustainable solutions that work now—and still work months from now. Your website, whether built on WordPress or another platform, should be stable, secure, and ready to grow with you. That means fewer headaches and a site that evolves alongside your business.

Freedom to focus on what matters

I’ve always believed that a well-built website should give you more space—not more stress. When your site is stable, secure, and handled, you’re free to focus on the work that actually moves your business forward. That might mean taking care of your clients, growing your online presence, launching something new, or simply logging off for the weekend without worrying about backups or what’s broken. I value that kind of freedom—and I build for it.

Outside of work

When I’m not in dev mode, you can find me savoring slow mornings with a cappuccino, skiing in the backcountry, biking Colorado trails, or combing beaches for sea glass. I live in Denver with my husband, two furballs, and a few too many houseplants.

Fun fact: I used to think I was only a dog person. One particularly charming cat changed my mind.
